Description

Experience the best of Borneo's unique wildlife on this captivating three day, two night tour. Travel to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre to witness Orang Utan feeding. Journey onward along the Kinabatangan River to the multi international award winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge. 

Built in traditional Malaysian architectural style, this unique lodge features 20 rooms, a lounge, gift shop, education centre, Hornbill Boardwalk with elephant passes, three wildlife viewing decks, an enclosed garden, the riverside Melapi restaurant, an open sun-deck and jetty. Sukau Rainforest Lodge also features numerous environment conservation measures. 

During your stay at Sukau, you will be taken on three river cruises and one walk through the jungle, upon which you will have the opportunity to see abundant primate, bird and other wildlife species. A night cruise to spot nocturnal species is also available. At the end of your journey enjoy a short tour of Sandakan town's highlights.


ITINERARY

Day 1 (Sepilok/Sukau)

Meet on arrival at Sandakan Airport (Via MH2042 from Kota Kinabalu ETA 0810hrs) and proceed to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitaion Centre to experience a close encounter with the remarkable “Wild Man of Borneo”. Here tamed Orang Utans are rehabilitated to become wild in their natural habitat. 1000hrs. feeding of Orang Utans. Lunch at the Centre’s cafeteria before continuing journey pass the countryside; meandering through oil palm plantations and rainforest to reach riverine Sukau.

Day 2 (Gomantong Cave/City Tour) 

A leisure morning followed by breakfast. The Gomantong Caves on the way back to Sandakan is the next stop where you get to explore the largest and one of the most fascinating birds’ nest cave in Sabah. This is where the edible birds’ nest, a Chinese delicacy is collected. Lunch at Sandakan; followed by a short nature city tour covering the various historical landmarks including local fishing village built on stilts over the water and the popular Puh Jih Syh Chinese Temple. Transfer to the airport for your flight back to Kota Kinabalu (MH2047 ETD1640hrs).
